BOYS’ MATCHES OTAGO v. CANTERBURY THE SENIOR GAME The annual match of the senior representative teams of the Canterbury and Otago Boys’ Cricket Associations was begun on the main ground at Logan Park yesterday on a fast wicket. Otago batted first and was dismissed for 72, the top scorer being Baker, who made 16, while Dunn and Pound were the only other batsmen to reach double figures. Dunn was driving well in front of the wicket, but delivered one right into the bowler’s hands at 13. Nearly a third of Otago’s score was made up of extras. Canterbury’s first wicket partnership was productive of 54 runs, of which Roberts contributed 42, playing a sound and vigorous game before he was caught by Toomey off S. Campbell. Rose, Nolan, and Christmas were the only _other batsmen to make a stand, none of the others reaching double figures. Otago changed the bowling around a good deal, no fewer than eight boys being tried. Three wickets fell to S.
