THE WHEAT INDUSTRY
OPERATION OF QUOTA BRITISH FARMERS’ ANTICIPATIONS. LONDON, December 4. The Daily Telegraph’s agricultural editor says that farmers anticipate an all-round improvement in the industry when the quota operates, including a progressive increase in Horae and Empire wheat. The quotas will increase arable cultivation, give assistance to live stock breeding, encourage higher agricultural wages, the return of thousands of workers to the land, and a revival of fresh killed meat production. It is expected that, a special Cabinet sub-committee will begin discussion on Tuesday on the dominion wheat quota.
