CONCERT AT TALBOYS HOME

MISS. JIMSIE FRASER’S PARTY. The final entertainment for 1931 at Talkoys Home by Jimsie Fraser’s Concert Party' was held on Saturday evening. A short community sing, conducted by Mr R. Currie, asisted at the piano by Mr J. Billing and Mr W- Schmetz (violin), was an enjoyable item. This wgs followed by orchestral selections by Messrs A. Lyons, F. Haldane, J. Billing, and W. Schmelz; vocal solos, Mr E. Bolwell; double sword dance. Misses Nora and Peggy Steele; vocal solo, Mrs M. Oliver; Irish jig, Misses Daphne Allan and Reta Warren; vocal solo, Mr J. Ramsay; musical trio—Mrs F. Jones, Mr Ramsay, and Master Allan Ramsay; sean triubhais, Miss Jean Freeman: recitation. Miss Laura Ewart; vocal solo, “Nazareth, Mr Bert Freeman; piano solo, Master V. Rusbatch; orchestral trio—Misses Olive West, Lily Smith, and Mr H. French; vocal solo. Miss A. Ramsay; military dance, Miss Peggy Black; pianoforte solo, Mr J. Kearsley; minuet, Miss Melody Sutherland; concertina selections, Mr W. Holmes; sean triubhais, Misses Eileen Jones and A. Ramsay; military dance, Misses Peggy and Nora Steele; vocal solo, Mrs E. Black; Irish hornpipe. Miss Netty Pullar; accordion selections, Uncle Ben of 4ZO; Highland fling, Misses P. Black, E. Janes and Mr A. Ramsay; vocal solos, Mr W. Holmes. During the evening a number of performers entertained in the various hospital wards. Mr Sutherland (manager of Talboys Horae) thanked all members for their consistent loyalty throughout the year, and said they would look forward with pleasure to a continuance of the concerts in 1932.

The accompanist for the evening was Mr Axel Newton, and Piper Gordon Crichton supplied the bagpipe music.
