CITY CORPORATION NOTICES J^UNEDIN CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF SPECIAL ORDER MAKING PROPOSED BY-LAW No. 23, 1031. PUBLIC NOTICE is Hereby Given that the Dunedin City Council at a Special Meeting convened for the purpose and held on Wednesday, the second day of September, 1931, passed the following resolution by way of Special Order, viz.— That the Council of the City of Dunedin hereby resolves that the proposed By-law submitted herewith to be known as “ The Dunedin City By-law No. 23, 1931,” amending and extending By-law No. 1 of the City of Dunedin, be, and is, hereby adopted as a By-law; and it is hereby further resolved that this resolution be submitted to an Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on Wednesday, the 30th day of September, 1931, for confirmation as a Special Order, to which meeting the aforesaid proposed By-law shall also be submitted for confirmation. The object and purport of the said Bylaw are to amend and extend By-law No. 1 of the City of Dunedin in the manner hereunder set forth:— (a) Making further provisions for the regulation and control of advertising signs, signs on porticos, and advertising hoardings, and the issue of licenses, and permits, and fees payable therefor. (b) Regulating and controlling the use of vehicles and horses for advertising purposes, (c) Providing for the issue of a permit to use loud speakers and other devices for advertising purposes. (d) Regulating the traffic in Harrop street and Corrie street on the one way system, and providing for the regulation of street traffic by mechanical means. (e) Regulating and controlling the taking into and consumption of liquor in the municipal halls and other buildings owned by the Council; also in all buildings licensed as public halls on the occasion of any function therein where dancing forms a part. (f) Providing for the licensing of hawkers. (g) Amending the fee for license for food shop used for sale of both milk and ice crGain, (h) Fixing the building line in Glen road. (i) Making regulations for the construction, maintenance, and repair of street crossings. (j) Requiring covered vans and expresses to be provided with a rear view reflector. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN THAT the aforesaid resolution will be submitted to an ordinary meeting of the said Council to be held at the Town Hall, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 30th day of September, 1931, for confirmation as a Special Order to which meeting the said By-law shall also be submitted for confirmation.
