LEAGUE OF NATIONS ASSEMBLY

A model assembly of the League of Nations will be portrayed at His Majesty’s Theatre this evening. The Rev. H. E. Bellhouse will open the proceedings with a brief account of the place of the assembly in the movement to world peace. The Rev. J. Astor will act as secretarygeneral and Mr Brough as president of the council, while speeches will be delivered by the Rev. E. S. Tuckwell, Miss King, Mrs A. Watson, and Messrs Woods, A. C. Cameron, Piliso, Wilkinson, Hctherington, Jones, R. H. Simpson, and Hannan, Speeches in foreign languages, which will be translated, will be delivered hy M. Saldaigne and Dr Marshall Macdonald. The Mayor (Mr R. S. Black), who has. with Mrs Black, taken a very keen and active interest in the proceedings, will act as president of the council. As an effort will be made to capture the spirit of the assembly as well as to outline its procedure, there will be interludes, interruptions, and action. Signora Reggiardo is in charge of the orchestra, which, although not in strict accordance with the methods of the League, will add to the appreciation of the proceedings.
