SYDNEY, August 11.—Arrived: Ullmaroa (.6.30 a.m.), from Wellington. SUVA, August 10.—Sailed: Ventura, for Auckland. , The Storm, which arrived yesterday afternoon from Bluff, sailed last evening for Timaru and Lyttelton to complete loading for Wellington and Wanganui. The Waipiata Is due at Dunedin this morning from Bluff to load general cargo. She Is timed to sail this evening for Timaru, Wellington and Auckland. The Kaponga Is to sail to-day for Oamaru, Timaru and Lyttelton to discharge the remainder of her Westport coal and load general cargo for Westport. The Walkoualtl sailed yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton, Timaru and Oamaru to continue discharging general cargo and coal from Australia. She will return to Dunedin about the end of the week to complete discharge and load for Sydney. The Wlngatul Is due to-morrow from • Auckland, via ports, to discharge and load general cargo. She will sail next Monday for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. The Gale Is due here to-morrow from Wellington to discharge and load general cargo. She Is timed to sail to-morrow evening for Timaru and Lyttelton to complete loading for 'Wellington, Plcton and Wanganui. The steamer Tees, which has been on the coastal run for some weeks under charter to Holm and Co., will bo taken off the run this week to make her periodical trip to the Chatham Islands. She Is due at Lyttelton to-morrow and Is to sail that day with passengers and cargo for the Islands, where she will call at Waltangl, Owenga, Kalngaroa, and Pitt Island. En route from Falmouth to Australian ports, the Federal Line steamer Cambridge Is reported to have cleared Panama on August 5. The Federal Line' steamer Northumberland, which sailed from Brisbane on June 30 for 'United Kingdom ports, via Genoa, cleared Genoa on August 5. TAINUI PROM LONDON. The Shaw, Savlll and Albion Company advises that the Talnul Is due at Port Chalmers this morning from Uon don . via Wellington and Lyttelton to discharge a large quantity of Home cargo. She will sail about the end of the week for Bluff to complete discharge. HEEMINIUS PROM LIVERPOOL, v The Shaw, Savlll and Albion steamer Hermlnius Is due at Auckland on Saturday from Liverpool. She will discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth. THE CITY OF CHRISTIANIA. The A and A. Line’s chartered steamer City of Christiania, which left New York on July 10, and Newport Nows on July 14 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australia, is duo at Auckland on August 15. The Marine Department advises that signals arafleow made between flagstaffs erected near the south-western end of Motutara Island, Auckland, and a point a mile and a-quarter north of Sadler Point, In connection with the working of a quarry on Motutara Island and the carriage of metal to the mainland. The day signals will consist of circular and/or triangular shapes exhibited from the yardarms. The night signals will consist of white and/or red lights exhibited from the mast or from the yard. Motutara is the westernmost Island of tho Kaltu Kalu group. The present flashing white light with red .sector on Oraltel wharf (Auckland Harbour) has been altered to flashing red every four seconds thus: Flash 1 second, eclipse 3 seconds. Position: On black pile beacon about 130 yards to the northward of black beacon off the Bastion. Details: A red sector has been Introduced in the fixed white light exhibited on the black pile beacon about 130 yards to the northward of the black beacon off the Bastion. The light shows red from 844 degrees through north to 074 degrees, white elsewhere. The red sector covers tho sewer outfall beacon.
MATAKANA TO LOAD. Tho Shaw, Savlll Company advises that the Matakana is due at Port Chalmers on August 19 from Tlmaru to load frozen meat and dairy produce for London. She will sail hence tor Lyttelton and Wellington to complete loading. PACIFIC ISLAND TOURS. Travellers may with advantage take this opportunity of avoiding winter at a minimum of cost, as the passenger lives on board for the whole trip and consequently has only small incidental expenses. The reduced fare will apply during the next four months.
