DUNEDIN ORPHANS’ CLUB

“LADIES’ NIGHT” A large number of members of the Dunedin Orphans’ Club and their- lady friends assembled in the Savoy Restaurant last night to celebrate , “ Ladies’ Night.” An excellent programme had been prepared, and . the entertainment supplied by the members was carried through to the entire satisfaction of those present. The president (Bro, W. E. Earnshaw) extended a welcome to the guests, and expressed a hope that they would have a thoroughly enjoyable time. , The programme was opened with two selections by the Club’s Orchestra, under Bro. E. Kerr, “ Shoulder to Shoulder ” and “ The Desert Song,’-’ which were followed by,a song, “My Friend,” Bro. T. C. Williams; recitation, “ Mieawber on Finance,” Bro. S. H. Osborn; song 1 , “ Flappers,” Bro. Alec Regan; instrumental quartet, ballet music from “Rosamunde,” Bros. H. M'Donald, G. Raffills, J. Flint, T. Lusk, and Findlay;, ventriloquial item, Bro. H. M. Eggers; song, “The Toy Band,” Bro. S. G. Angell; song,'“ The Musical Barber,” Bro. J. A. Haggitt; song, “When Shadows Gather,” Bro. A. Walmsley. The second half of the programme was provided by a pierrot party comprising the following members: Bros. A. Macdonald, -P. Watson, E. James, J. Davies, M. O’Sullivan, T. Bachop, R. S. Moloney, D. French, E. Duerdon, D. P. Inglis, C. Hill, and, W. Ruffell.. Bro. T. J. Kirk-Burnnand was th* accompanist.
