A PERILOUS VOYAGE

ATLANTIC CROSSED IN YACHT HUGE SEAS ENCOUNTERED. LONDON, August 3. Mr C. Barber, an Englishman, and Mr A. Walter, an Esthonian, arrived at Plymouth in a 28 foot yacht, after what they claimed was a record transatlantic passage of 29 days from Newport (Rhode Island).

During the trip the pair lashed themselves to the mast to prevent the huge seas washing them overboard. They were without a chronometer, and saw no sign of life for a week. A 14-foot shark followed them for days, six inches from the gunwale.
