BANK OF ENGLAND
THE CREDIT AGREEMENT FAR-SIGHTED STATESMANSHIP. LONDON, August 3. The Times says that the' action of the Bank of France and the United States Reserve Bank in giving a credit of £50,000,000 to the Bank of England is a piece of far-sighted financial statesmanship and a much-needed demonstration of the financial solidarity which is essential to the stability of the world banks. The agreement gives the Brtish Government breathing space to take effective steps to balance its Budget.
