BUILDING SOCIETIES’ DEBT TO PRESS
■- -»■ SIR ENOCH HILL ON “ MAGNIFICENT RESULTS.” “Thanks are due to our great national and provincial press for the splendid ■work which has been done in spreading the gospel of home ownership and in . educating the people in the work of build- ' ing societies," said Sir Enoch Hill, at 'the conference of the National Association of building Societies held at Bristol. Without the aid of the press and the consistent press - advertising, which had brought such magnificent results to building societies using this medium, he doubted if the movement would have progressed at half the rate it baa done during the last few years. 1 Sir Enoch said that newspapers were continually devoting valuable space to the advantages of homo ownership, and the special “Home Buying” sections, which were becoming a regular feature in : our great dailies, were undoubtedly contributing to the borrowing business of building societies.
