POLICY OF WAGE CUTS
BANK DIRECTORS’ VIEWS REDUCED PURCHASING POWER. LONDON, July 11. (Received July 12, at 8 p.m.) The Daily Herald’s city editor says that the directors of the Bank of England, after a discussion at a recent meeting, decided against the policy of general wage cuts in view of its effect on purchasing power. They suggested restrictions on employers and the acceleration of industrial reorganisation.
