PRIESTS AND THE UNEMPLOYMENT LEVY

TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —For quite a while, valuable space in your paper has been filled with letters on the above subject. These are full of insinuations and bigotry, and are an insult to the Catfcolic community. The priests in the province of Otago do pay the flnemployment levy. The same is true, as far as can he ascertajned, in the provinces of Auckland, Wellington, and Canterbury. The case of members of religious orders, not in receipt of wages, has already been satisfactorily explained by you.—l am, etc., W. A. Hanrahan. 277 Rattray street, July 10.
