WAREPA COLLIE CLUB

The final meeting of the Warepa Collie Club was held on Monday, the president (Mr W. S. Thomson) presiding over a good attendance. The secretary reported on the trials, which had been very successful from all aspects. The balance sheet showed a very favourable credit on the proceedings, and the club was well pleased with its efforts. Included in the correspondence was a letter from Mr lan Watt, congratulating the club on the efficient manner in which the trials’ had been conducted. This letter was much appreciated by the club. , • It was decided that next year’s trials be held on May 30, 31, and June 1, A vote of sympathy was passed with Mrs Crawford Anderson |n the death of her husband, who had been one of the club’s past judges. The meeting accepted with sincere regret the resignation of the secretary (Mr Frank Cameron). Mr R. M. Cross was appointed acting-secretary until the next annual meeting. Members' expressed- the club’s indebtedness to the South Otago Freezing Company for its generous offer of blankets and bed ding for the billeting!; of competitors. Other matters pertaining to the trials were also discussed.. Prior to concluding the meeting the president, on behalf of the club, presented to the retiring secretary a leather tobacco pouch suitably inscribed, and expressed their sincere regret at losing their secretary. Mr Cameron suitably replied.
