GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL

ANNUAL CONCERT The annual concert of the Otago Girls’ High School was held in the school last night, when there was a -large attendance. The proceeds were in aid of the Young Helpers’ League and the New Zealand Student Christian Movement. The entertainment was of a most enjoyable nature, and-the various items met with the full approval of the audience. The programme was as follows:—School Orchestra —(a) “Scottish Airs,” (b) “ The Doge’s March ”; song, Miss Dora Drake; a burlesque, Discussion Group; item, Ex-girls’ Club; item, University S.M. Branch-; “The Sleeping Beauty,” Third Form (Junior Club); nigger minstrels, V, M, and N Circle; double quartet, Training College S.M. Branch; song and chorus, V R Circle; item, University S.M. Branch; pianoforte solo, R. Elliffe; part song, V S Circle; pianoforte duet, V A L Circle; “Riding Down From Bangor,” fourth forms (Junior Club); recitation, D. Hazlewood; selection, School Choir. The concert was concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
