Shand, inspector of stock, Tapanui, has received notice of transfer to Fairlie, South Canterbury, Mr J. L. Stewart Wright, of Cromwell, arrived in Dunedin last evening by the Central train. Mr W. T. Hazlett, of Invercargill, was a passenger for Wellington by the through express yesterday. Mr E. Logan, formerly pic Gisborne, has taken up the position of district Public Works storekeeper in succession to Mr G. M'Gregor, who has been transferred to Wellington as stores inBDPctor Mr R. W. Marshall, formerly in charge of the Tourist Department in Dunedin, and who is now stationed in Christchurch, returned north by the through express Mr Hugo Larsen, who has been making arrangements for the Dawson-Hambourg season in Dunedin, will leave.to-day for Christchurch to meet Mr Dawson and Mr Hambourg, and will return with the party next Tuesday in time for the opening concert in the Town Hall. Dr A. Durward, who has been chiel assistant, to Professor Gowland in the anatomydepartment of the Otago Medical School for some years, left by the raidday express yesterday on his way to London, to take up the position of assistant to Professor Elliot Smith at the University College, London. Dr Durward received an enthusiastic send-off at the station from a large number of students.
