HOSPITAL SWEEPSTAKES
BILL IN CANADIAN SENATE DEFERRED FOR SIX MONTHS. OTTAWA, June 18. A proposal that Canada should follow the Irish Free State in the matter of hospital sweepstakes was killed in the Senate, when a Bill by Senator Barnard, of British Columbia, sponsoring a national hospitals drawing, was deferred for six months, ’by 34 votes to 22.
