THE MAROUBRA SHOOTING. MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER. SYDNEY, June 18. ,As a sequel to the Maroubra shooting, James Devine, husband of “Tilly Devine, was charged with the murder of Moflitt. Frederick Moflitt was found shot through the breast in a sitting position at the steering wheel in his cab at a lonely spot in Maroubra. Many shots were heard by neighbours, but as the night was wet and dismal nobody ventured out to investigate. The police expressed the opinion that Moflitt was the victim of an underworld feud as the shots were apparently fired from the roadway at short range, and there were several bullet holes iu the cab.
