FORBURY PARK COMMITTEE A meeting of the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club was held last night, and was attended by'the president, Mr B. S. Irwin (in the chair), and Messrs James Mitchell, A. Clark, A. G. Neill, W. J. I/. Goughian, John Mitchell, J. Trengrove, R. Si. Greenslade, H. Archbold, J. Richardson, and James Black. J. B. Norris, secretary of the New Zealand Trotting Association, wrote stating that at the last meeting of his board the action of the Forbury Park stewards in inquiring into M. B. Edwards’s driving of Millie de Oro - / in the Southland Handicap at the club’s recent meeting, had been endorsed. The Forbury Park stewards had recommended that in future Millie de Oro should not be allowed to race on dirt tracks. F. J. Beer, stipendiary steward, wrote statins that the winter meeting of the club Lad been carried out under fine weather conditions and had been well con-, ducted. The attendance had been very good, but in comparison with last year the betting had been restricted, with the result that the totalisator had shown, a decrease of about £16,000. This meeting, however, in view of the present economic conditions, had to be considered satisfactory. The racing had been of a very high standard, many close finishes being witnessed and fast times being recorded. —The report was received, It was decided to recommend the following applications to the New Zealand Trotting Association for approval:— License to train, ride, and drive (amateur), M. H. Dawson; license to ride, drive, and train (professional), Charles G. Mountney; license to ride, drive, and train (professional), Arthur Reid; license to train (professional), William J. Hall; license to train (professional), James M'Kewen. It was decided to accept the tender of James Martin for the installation of new sub-service wiring from the main totalisator to the outside totalisator.

The treasurer (Mr Black) moved that accounts amounting to £55 9a 6d be passed for payment. He said that the main item was £36 2a XOd, a payment under the superannuation insurance scheme arranged by the club. Mr Black also stated that there was an amount of £26 15s owing to the club, this representing outstanding entry fees from 1923 to 1929. He said that there was very little likelihood of recovering the money, and suggested that it be written off the books of the club. —The suggestion was adopted. It was decided to accept the tender of W. Heffernan for the right to conduct the licensed booth at the club’s meetings for the next three years. . It was decided to instruct the chairman of the Works Committee (Mr James Mitchell) to procure rose plants for planting around the fences ii the motor paddock-
