At the inquest- on a Maori boy, three years of age, who died on Sunday at Winiafa, near Taihape, the medical evidence showed that death was the result of haemorrhage of the brain following a ruptured artery caused by a blow or a fall. The stepfather, Wereta Takurua, gave evidence that the boy fell on the veranda last Thursday. Witness noticed a bruise over the eye, and the child cried a little. He called a doctor on Sunday, but on arrival the child was dead. A verdict in accordance with the medical testimony was returned.
