WOMAN’S VIEW OF WOMEN • LONDON, June 7. Women in the gallery at the National Conference of Labour Women at Blackpool caused the speakers a good deal of annoyance by a constant fire of interruptions. At last many of the interjectors had to be removed from the hall by men stewards. “Why men stewards?” cried several delegates, when the stewards were called in. “ Because,” said Dr Ration Phillips, M.P., “they will do the job with less injury to the women than would be the case if hand-to-hand fighting occurred among the women themselves.”
