“ALL WILL COME RIGHT”
AUSTRALIA’S HOUR OF TRIAL BANK MANAGER’S OPTIMISM ADVICE TO BUSINESS MEN (United Press Association.) (By Elqctric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, June 15. (Received June 15, ai 8 p.ra.) Addressing the Constitutional Association, Mr A. C. Davidson, general manager of the Bank of New South Wales, expressed the opinion that if the Melbourne Conference retrenchment plan was' carried out faithfully the Budgets should be balanced in 1934. Business men, he said, should be able to plan almost immediately for a return of confidence. “ The change may come slowly, but I urge business men to hang on,” he said. “ You will be surprised with what ease and trifling disturbance it can be done. You may object to this or that, but 1 appeal to you to keep the whole economy plan together. Encourage your friends to take up their share of the good work, and all will come right much sooner than you expect.”
FORECAST BY LABOUR LEADERS. A SCULLIN-LYONS COALITION. SYDNEY, June 15. The Telegraph says:—“A, ScullinLyons Federal coalition, with 13 or more pf the left wing Labour members as the official Opposition, was forecasted by the State Australian Labour Party and industrial leaders. ATTORNEY-GENERAL RESIGNS. SYDNEY, June 15, (Received June 16, at 1.30 a.m.) What is described as a surprising development in the Lang Administration is the resignation to-day of Mr A. A. Lysaght (Attorney-general), who so .far has given no reason for relinquishing office, but it is believed to be due to his colleague’s condemnation and the judges’ criticism of his Law Reform Bill.
