HULL, June 13.—Arrived; Karamea, from Melbourne. LIVERPOOL, Juno 13.—Sailed: Otalo, for Auckland. ♦ The auxiliary ketch Mlro arrived in the Lower Harbour on Sunday morning from Auckland and Gisborne. She discharged a quantity of explosives yesterday morning, and then came to Dunedin to load general cargo for Auckland. The steamer Tees, which has been chartered by Messrs Holm and Co., Is due at Dunedin on Saturday from Wellington to load general cargo for New Plymouth and Port Waikato. She will also load at Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. ' The Walmarlno, which has been delayed at Wellington, Is now expected at Dunedin tomorrow to discharge and load general cargo. She Is timed to sail on Thursday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Gale has been fixed to load general cargo at Dunedin to-morrow for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Westmoreland left Wellington on Sunday for Gisborne and Auckland to complete loading. She is to leave Auckland on June 25 for London, Avonmouth,' Liverpool, and Glasgow. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the motor liner Rangltlkl arrived at Wellington on Sunday from Lyttelton to complete her Homeward loading. She 1s scheduled to clear Wellington finally at daybreak on June 20 for Southampton and London, via the Panama canal. WAIRUNA PROM PACIFIC COAST. - The Union Company advises that the Walruna Is due at Dunedin to-day from Pacific coast ports, via Auckland, Wellington, Napier, and Lyttelton, to discharge Canadian and American cargo. The vessel will sail hence for Melbourne and Sydney to complete discharge. COPTIC FROM LIVERPOOL. The Shaw, Savlll Company’s motor ship Coptic, from Liverpool, at Auckland on Sunday. She will later proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin to complete discharge. She is due at this port on Juno 24. CORNWALL REPLACES ORARI. The Federal Cojnpany advises that the Cornwill Is scheduled to leave Liverpool on August 15 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers, in place of tho Orarl. HUNTINGDON FROM LIVERPOOL. The Federal steamer Huntingdon arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from Wellington to continue discharge of her cargo from west coast ports of the United Kingdom. She is to sail to-day for Port Chalmers to complete discharge. The Huntingdon will load at Bluff, Timaru, Lyttelton. Wanganui, and Wellington, and Is to sail from Wellington on July 11 for London and west coast ports. , PORT HUON FROM NEW YORK. To continue discharge of her cargo from Antwerp, New York, and Tampico, the C. and D. Line motor ship Port Huon arrived at Wellington last Friday from Auckland. She was to sail yesterday for New Plymouth, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers to complete discharge. She Is due here about June 24. CARGO FROM NEW YORK. The C. and D. Line advises that the motor ship Port Alma Is scheduled to leave New York on July 30 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers. LUCERNA LEAVES SINGAPORE. The Shell Oil Company has received cable advice that the tanker Lucerna left Singapore on June 7 with bulk oil for discharge at Wellington and other New Zealand ports. She Is due at Wellington on June 29. oPERSONAL ITEMS. Captain W. W. Fish is now In command of the Wlngatui, relieving Captain E. R. Lowe, who Is awaiting instructions. Mr N. J. Siepen is now chief officer of the R.M.S. Makura. Captain G. W. Evans, who has been ashore at Greymouth on_ sick leave, has resumed command of the Klnl. ♦ NEW MATSON LINE SERVICE. Advice has been received that the vessels to be engaged in the Matson Line’s new Pacific mail and passenger service will load at San Francisco and Los Angeles. They will be despatched from Los Angeles for Honolulu, Pago Pago, Suva. Auckland, and Sydney. The Sonoma will be the first steamer in the service, which will be a three-weekly one. She Is scheduled to clear Los Angeles on July 3 and reach Auckland on Friday, July 24. sailing the same day for Sydney. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. AUCKLAND-BUILT MOTOR VESSEL. , A new motor vessel Is being built at Freeman’s Bay, Auckland, by Mr G. Niccol and Is expected to be ready for launching In about a month. The vessel Is similar In design to the Hoblanga, which was also built by Mr Niccol, but her hull Is sharper and she Is slightly smaller. The dimensions of the new vessel are:—Length, 100 ft; beam, 25ft; depth, Bft Olnln. Her carrying capacity will be about 180 tons. Like the other motor vessels built by Mr Niccol, the new ship is exceptionally strongly constructed for the coastal trade to bar harbours. She is diagonally built, the three thicknesses of limber of the hull being five Inches through. To make the hull extra strong it Is stiffened inside with bulbanglo frames of special design. There Is one hold which is heavily lined and is fitted at both ends with a fume-tight bulkhead to allpw the carriage of case oil under hatches. The forecastle Is fitted with accommodation for eight men, and the captain, officers, and engineers will be provided with roomy cabins aft. A powerful windless on tho forecastle head will be operated by a chain messenger from a Kelvin kerosene winch, which will also bo used for cargo, and will have a direct lifting capacity of one ton. The single propeller will be driven by a 210 h.p. Falrbanks-Morse full Diesel engine, and it is estimated that the vessel’s speed when fully loaded will be 10 knots. The vessel will be practically completed when she Is launched and when the mast has been fitted after she is off the sllp ( the ship will be ready for sea. PASSENGERS FOR AUSTRALIA.
