NEW ZEALAND ALLIANCE

THE FINAL SESSION (Peb United Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON, June 15. The Rev. J. R. Blanchard was unanimously elected to succeed the retiring president, the Rev. W. J. Comrie, at the final session of the annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance. The following were the vice-presidents elected:— Messrs F. B. Adams, H. S. Adams, A. R. Atkinson, J. S. Baxter, C. Bellringer, Bishop F. Bennett, Ven. Archdeacon Chatterton, the Rev.' J. Cocker, the Rev. W. J. Comrie, Commissioner Cunningham (Salvation Army), Messrs L. E. Falkner, F. A. Feist, F. Ferriman, Sir G. Fowlds, J. B. Gow, M.L.C., A, F. Hawke, M.L.C., W. J, Hellyer, W. D. Hunt, L. M. Tsitt, M.L.C., A. R. Laidlaw, C. M. Luke, T. H. Macky, J. M'Combs, M.P., the Rev. J. Paterson, H. E. Pacey, Mr A. J. Stallworthy, M.P., and D. G. Sullivan, M.P. Mr A. H. Ivory, LL.B., A.P.A.N.Z., was unanimously elected hon. treasurer. The following members of the Standing Committee were elected: —Messrs F. C. Spratt, A. R. Atkinson, F. A. Feist, W. J. Hclyer, \W. D. Hunt, C. R. Edmond, the Rev. T. M. Vealie, L. M. Isitt, M.L.C., the Rev. H. J. Odell, W. S. Bruce, S. T. S. Martin, Lieutenant-colonel Burton, Mrs Peryman, and the Rev. J. Hubbard.

In connection with Mr Comrie’s retirement the following resolution was adopted —“ That this annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance records its deep appreciation of the lifelong service rendered to the prohibition cause by Mr Comrie, and especially of his invaluable aid during his two terms as president. It rejoices to know that, while laid aside at present, he hopes soon to be able to take his place < as heretofore in the fronk rank of our forces.” Mr F. A. Foist, who for a number of years has been hon. treasurer, having expressed a wish to retire from that office, 'the meeting adopted a resolution expressing appreciation of his services.
