PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING

A LIVELY CONTEST. (Pee United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 15. A professional heavyweight wrestling contest staged between Stan Pinto (America) and Jack Higgins (Australia) was won by the first-named in the third round. Pinto arrived the same day by the Niagara. It was one of the liveliest contests seen here while it lasted. During the first round and at the end of it the sub-inspector of police spoke to the referee regarding hitting with the back of the hand indulged in by the American. The large crowd, however, resented such interference, counting the police officer out. Higgins was awarded a penalty fall in the second round when his opponent kicked him in the face to escape an arm stretch. In the third round Pinto picked his opponent up and dumped him heavily, Higgins being unable to continue.
