Though he has seen sport uhder all sorts of conditions and in many lands the Prince of Wales saw Association football played in a novel way when he and Prince George watched a match played by artificial light and with a white ball between teams representing Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. The match was played at the magnificent Fluminense Club, which, with its marble halls r, nd staircases adorned with rich statuary, is more like a palace than a football club. Huge clusters of floodlights illuminated the field like day and lit up crowds which thronged the stands. Cheers from the 40,000 spectators greeted the Princes as they entered the royal box.
