SUNDAY SERVICES

The Rev. D. C. Herron will conduct both services at Knox Church to-morrow. At First Church the Rev, W. Allen Stevely will conduct the services and Dr Galway will preside at the organ. In Jhe morning Mr Stevely’s subject will be The Ministry of the Mountain,” and in evening “ Great Symbols: (2) The h ish. The evening anthem will be Mendelssohn’s motet “ Hear My Prayer,” the soloist being Master Lex Macdonald. Bloodless Christianity: What of it? " is the title of an address to be given by Mr Nagel to-morrow evening in York Place Hall. Miss Zara Stacpoole, of the “ Happy-go-lucky O’Plynn ’’ Company, accompanied by a full choir, will sing the “ Inflammatus " from Rossini’s “ Stabat Mater ” at the 11a.m. mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral tomorrow.

Retiring collections will be taken up morning and evening on behalf of the confirmed young people’s department. ; Young People’s Day will, be • observed at the St. Kilda Methodist Church tomorrow. At the morning,servioe the Rev. Percy Paris will preach on “ The Longest Way Round, the Nearest Way Home,” and in the evening his subject ■mil be “The Battle Between Beasts.and Angels.” Bible class members will help in the evening service. ' .' . At the Salvation Army to-morrow each service will be of special interest. At 7.15 a.m, Bandsman E. Day will lead. At the 11 o’clock service Colonel Swain, a recent arrival from Australia to the position of women’s social secretary, will be the chief speaker. Brigadier Walls, national young people’s secretary, will deliver at 3 o’clock a lecture on the world-wide Army'on which the sun has never set. The brigadier will also conduct the popular, service at 7 o’clock. ] At the Central Mission to-mgrrow night the Rev. L. B. Neale will take for his subject “ The Whisper of God.” The soloist will be Mr W. E. Crewes, of Wellington. At 11 a.m. the preacher will be the Rev. F. E. Foot. All strangers and visitors will be heartily welcomed. At the conclusion of the service there will be a young people’s rally. ' The evening service at the Congregational Church.
