The; Norwegian steamer Penybryn is expected to complete unloading her phosphate cargo at Auckland to-day. Afterwards the. vessel will proceed! to Newcastle to bunker and later will load a yyheat cargo in Australia for Europe. The auxiliary schooner Hula was due at Melbourne on June 5 from Sydney. The vessel is to proceed from Melbourne to Fremantle with explosives, and she will return to Melbourne from Fremantle with a cargo of timber. After discharging the timber she will load a cargo of explosives for Auckland. Westport and Greymouth. Having completed her outward loading, the Raranga left Napier on Monday night for London, via Montevideo. The coastal vessel Gael, of 95 tons gross and 55 tons net, has/been converted into a motor, vessel oh the west coast. She has been fitted with an oil engine of the same type as those placed in the Kapltl and Alexander, and is to re-enter the Wellington-Hokitika service. The Union Company has received advice that the Karepo, from Edlthburg, left Adelaide on Juno G for Auckland, New Plymouth, Tarakohe, Wellington and Lyttelton. She is due at Auckland on Monday. The Ulimaroa, which arrived at Wellington on Tuesday morning from Sydney, had Included In her cargo transhipments from the following vessels: —Mongolia, Kydkkoh Maru, Mangola, Thermopylae, brsova, Mlldura, Westralia, Goulburn and Mareeha. The Federal steamer Westmoreland arrived at New Plymouth last Sunday afternoon from Oamaru to continue her Homeward Joading. The vessel Is scheduled to clear Auckland finally on June 25 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via the Panama canal. . WAIRUNA FROM PACIFIC COAST. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s new motor ship Opawa is reported to have cleared Colon on June 6. The vessel is from Liverpool on her maiden voyage. She has cargo from west coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and Bluff. Tho Opawa is due at Auckland on June 30.

HERTFORD HOMEWARD BOUND. Reported to have cleared Panama on June 5, the Federal Line steamer Hertford Is en route from Auckland to London.' She sailed from Auckland on May 15. OTAIO LEAVES GLASGOW. Cable advice has been received that the New Zealand Shipping Company’s new motor ship Otaio left Glasgow on June 6 for Liverpool to complete loading for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and possibly Oamatu, to the agency of the Federal Company. She is to clear Liverpool to-morrow, and Is due at Auckland about July 15. POSITION AT GREYMOUTH. The Greymouth bar Is reported to have shoaled to the extent of about six feet during the period since May 25, when it has been practically unworkable. It is not expected that any of the six Union Company vessels at present bar-bound will be able to get away before the end of the week, although the Poolta, for Brisbane, the Kinl, for New Plymouth and Wellington, and the Kalmai, for Wellington, may possibly be despatched before then. The Kaponga, for Wellington and Auckland, Rartigi, for Wellington and Napier, and Klwitea, for Auckland, could not possibly be despatched during the next few days without being lightened. During the week ended April 17, 998 vessels, representing 935,349 net register tons, used the Port of London; 543 vessels (782,893 net register tons) were to and from colonial and foreign ports and 455 (152,456 net register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic. Seven vessels discharged meat cargoes during the week, four from Australia and New Zealand, the Orontcs, Limerick, Euripides, and the Mataroa; and three from South America, the Hardwick Grange, Apdalucia Star and the Natla. Altogether, nearly 180,000 carcasses of lamb and mutton, some 100,000 quarters of beef, quantities of pork and rabbits, and 23,000\packages of sundries were distributed to the London market " and throughout the country or placed in cold storage.
