CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH. (Speciaii to Dailt Times.) AUCKLAND, May 28. The weather to-day was fine and sunny, with a cold wind from the south-west. The barometer rose sharply during the day, the reading at night being SO.lOin. WELLINGTON, May 28. Late last night a sudden southerly storm, accompanied by heavy rain, swept Wellington, but this morning died away. Tile remainder of the day was fine, with bright sunshine, and the night cloudless and calm. CHRISTCHURCH, May 28. The night was stormy and wet, but the day broke fine, with a_ light breeze from the S.S.W. The maximum temperature was 50deg. The barometer has risen three points during the day, and now stands at SO.lOin.
