ATTEMPTED ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE

TWO MEN CHARGED. (Peb United Press Association.) TIMARU, April 11. On a charge of attempting to rob Galvin Nesbitt, and using personal violence, Thoihas James Cox and John Henry Fitzgerald, both-of Timaru, who appeared in the Timaru Police Court to-day, were committed to the Supreme Court for trial. The case was heard before Mr D. McLennan, J.P., and Mr A. P. Greenfield, J.P. Inspector A. S. Bird prosecuted for the police, and Mr A. J). M’Rae appeared for the two accused, who at the conclusion of the case formally entered a plea of not guilty. Nisbett. the man who wag allegedly assaulted, died in Timaru Public Hospital in the early hours of last Monday morning from injuries received by him while attempting to escape from the back of a motor in which ho was allegedly being assaulted by Fitzgerald.
