_ CUT DOWN BY TRAIN (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 1. Miss J. Sonthhy, aged 20, was killed at Otahuhu this morning by the Limited express. She was walking with her mother along the line, got confused when the engine whistled, and jumped the wrong way, in front of the train. AN OPEN VERDICT \ (Peb United Peess Association.) WELLINGTON, April 1. The coroner returned an open verdict that the deceased died from injuries received in, a collision with a motor car driven by Ronald Keir Duncan on the esplanade at Petone early in the evening of March 7, at the inquest in respect of" the death of a youth named Kreyl, aged 19, who was riding a cycle at the time of the accident. POISON BY MISTAKE (Peb United Press Association.) NAPIER, April 1. Andrew Waugh W hill ana died yesterday after his admission to the hospital. Thirty minutes earlier he told a neighbour he had taken poison by mistake. A SOLICITOR’S DEATH (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 1. Sydney Mogridge, a solicitor, was found dead with a bullet wound in his head at his office at Kaikoura this morning. A rifle was lying alongside the body. Mogridge was 37 years of age, single, and was secretary of the local Trotting Club.
