- FIRST OF SEASON MATCH —— The football season will be opened on Saturday, when the Kaikorai will meet the Pirates (Invercargill) at Carisbrook. This should provide a bright exhibition of Rugby. The visitors are sending up a good all-round team, including several prominent Southland players, while Kaikorai will place a strong side in the field. Kaikorai is expected to be a much stronger I side this season, having secured th'e serI vices of several new players, and this ■ match on Saturday should provide a closely-contested game.
