PATIENTS IN HOSPITAL. ONE DEATH REPORfED. (Pee United Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., February 28. The first death among earthquake patients in the hospital has occurred, Mrs Mary Watson, of Hastings, succumbing to her injuries. The following new cases were admitted: —Mrs Winifred Hassell, Napier; Mary Grant, Napier; William Mundy, Napier; Alfred Mansfield, Napier; Austin Mitchell, Havelock North. Cases discharged; Mrs Gardiner, Napier; Mrs Phyllis Hebberley, Napier. LAWYERS IN STRICKEN AREA. ASSISTANCE FROM LAW SOCIETY. (Per United Press Association.) • AUCKLAND, February 28. The Auckland District Law Society yesterday voted up to £IOOO for the purposes of General earthquake relief in Hawke’s Bay and to assist members of the legal profession in the stricken area. The president (Mr R. P. Towle) said that many members of the society in Napier and Hastings had suffered considerable losses and the society should help them to carry their heavy burden. • PRIME MINISTER’S FUND.
