REFEREE OFFERED FOR SALE. THE RESERVE NOT REACHED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, February 21. The Sunday newspaper Referee was offered for sale by auction. The goodwill and property as a whole were passed in at £21,000. The paper was owned by Sir Oswald Stoll, and was principally devoted to finance, theatre, and international politics. The Referee was formerly famous for the weekly notes contributed by “ Dagouct ” (Mr G. 11. Sims).
