LEITH BOWLING CLUB’S CARNIVAL.

The carnival which has been conducted for the past few days by the Leith Bowling and Croquet Club was concluded last night after what proved to be a satisfactory season. The object of the carnival was to raise money for the club’s Building Fund, and it was also decided to grant the net proceeds from the sideshows and competitions to the Earthquake Relief Fund. The secretary stated last night that it was not then possible to estimate the amount that would be devoted to the latter cause, as the amounts of disbursements were not yet known. The carnival was well patronised last night, and the stalls and sideshows did excellent business.
