“THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT.”

HALF PROFITS TO EARTHQUAKE FUND. It is certainly very generous of the J. C. Williamson. Ltd., to make a donation of half the profits of the New Zealand tour of “The House That Jack Built” to the Prime Ministers Earthquake Fund. The pantomime enjoyed a record season in Melbourne, where it was acclaimed as the best production staged there during recent years. If this is so it is likely to attract large audiences in the various cities and towns where it is staged in New Zealand, and the Prime Minister should receive quite a healthy cheque at the close of the tour. Play-goers, in addition to enjoying a good entertainment, will have the pleasurable knowledge that a good proportion of the money they pay for admission will be devoted to the relief of those who have suffered in the Hawke’s Bay calamity. It is to be hoped that the pantomime will enjoy a record tour. The Dunedin season is to begin on Thursday night next.
