CAPTAIN CAMPBELL
FETED BY AMERICANS. (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, February 10. (Received Feb. 11, at 5.5 p.m.) After being feted on successive nights by enthusiastic Americans, Captain Malcolm Campbell left Daytona for Washington, where it is expected that the British Ambassador will present him to President Hoover at White House. Captain Campbell will afterwards leave for England and will bring the Bluebird with him, but the Austin Seven with which he established a small car record is being sent to the British exhibition at Buenos Aires. Captain Campbell’s first public engagement in London will be a dinner in his honour, which is to be given by members of the British Racing Drivers’ Club. MIDGET CAR RECORD. BROKEN ON MONTLHERY TRACK. LONDON, February 10. (Received Feb. 11, at 8.30 p.m.) On the Montlhery track, driving a midget car, G. E. T. Eyston averaged 97,07 miles per hour over 50 kilometres, beating Captain Campbell’s Daytona record for 750 c.c. cars.
