“A DISGRACEFUL CASE.” LABOUR MEMBER FINED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, February 6. Mr T. I. Mardy-Jones (Labour member of Parliament) and his wife pleaded guilty at Marylebone Police Court to improper use of Government vouchers for travelling on railways, and were fined 40s, the magistrate declaring that it was a disgraceful case for a member of Parliament to be involved in. Mr Jones was charged with wilfully transferring nori-transferable tickets to his wife, and aiding and abetting his wife to travel by railway without previously paying the fare. The prosecuting counsel said that the tickets were obtained on Government warrants, and were for members of Parliament, not relatives. Mrs Jones handed in a ticket at the barrier dated December 19, but the date was written in M different pencil by her husband, said counsel. When the police visited Mr Jones he admitted the indiscretion.
