TIMARU WOOL SALE
(Per United Press Association.) TIMARU, February 6. The second wool sale of the season was hold in Timaru to-night when a catalogue of 14,536 bales was submitted. There was a fair and representative bench of buyers who competed very keenly for the various lots as they came under the hammer. From the outset the bidding was animated, both Bradford and Continental buyers being in the market, and each secured a fair proportion of the offerings. The wool was not quite up to the usual standard offered at the second sale in this centre, many lots being very heavy in condition and of doubtful yield. The bulk of the hogget’ was tender. Comparing the prices with those at the December sale these can be quoter hardly at par. Evidently farmers had made up their minds to meet the market as passings were comparatively small. The official range of prices is as follows: Merino—' Super, to 84d. Average, 64d t0.73d. Inferior, s|d to C|d. Fine Halfbred— Extra super, none on offer. Super, 7d, 73d. Average, 6d to 7d.
