TE ANAU NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TE ANAU, January 26. Lakes Te Anau and Manapouri are liaving their full share of tourists this season. On Sunday there were some 20 private cars parked at Te Anau. The now road to Milford, on which there are 250 men employed, is completed, for a distance of 25 miles, and the road to Te Anau Downs station along the shores of the lake is a beautiful drive, particularly the three miles through a bush of mixed timber. There has been a good deal of rani, and the lakes arc very high. The wharves at Manapouri, Te Anau and Glade House were well covered at the week end. The Waiau presents a glorious sight at the outlet of Te Anau and also at Manapouri. The Milford track has received more than its usual quota of rain, and travelling has not been of the best, but those who have made the trip say the numerous waterfalls baffle description.
