This was'’an increase of 221 over the 1 previous year, and represented the peak ,of America’s prosperity. Million-dollar incomes in 1929 and 1930 are expected to show a very sharp shrinkage. Twenty-six persons in 1928 had incomes of 5,000,000d0l or more, and 180,000,000d0l were paid in income taxes. During that year 2,523,000 people reported total incomes of 2«,22G,000,000dol, and , 268,000 corporate bodies reported incomes of 10,017,000, OOOdol.
