TRAMWAYS BAND CARNIVAL

The carnival organised for the purpose of augmenting the Tramways Band Contest Fund was continued on Saturday, when the Royal Arcade, in which the carnival is housed, presented an animated scene as the crowds thronged the various stalls. All manner of competitions and amusements are provided for the entertainment of patrons, and all received good patronage throughout the day, the younger generation being present in large numbers. During the evening the cabaret, which has been provided to cater for those whose tastes lie towards dancing, received strong support, the music being provided by a good orchestra, whilst excellent programmes were also supplied by the Tramways Band and the Artillery Band. The carnival will be continued to-day.
