CONDITION DESPERATE. GANGRENE SUPERVENES. PARIS, December 27. (Received Dec. 28, at 8 p.m.) . France was shocked to learn of the condition of Marshal Joffre, which is desperate, death being only a matter of days. He forbade until noty the disclosure that he is suffering from arteritis of the legs. The operation effected a temporary improvement, but five specialists v state that gangrene has supervened.'
