MORNINGTON BOY SCOUTS

The Christmas social of the Morning ton Boy Scouts and Wolf Cub Pack wafe held in the Scout Hall, Argyle street, Motuiugton. Tlictc was a good attend ance of parents And friends and a strong muster of Scouts and Cubs, Among the visitors were Messrs White, Muntz, and

Wing, members of the Area Council, District Commissioner Lang, D.S.M. Phelan, D.S.M, M’Callum, and D.O.M. Watt! The chairman (Mr R. B. Smith) welcomed the visitors, and as this was the first function held In their Scout Hall appealed to all to join in making the evening an unqualified success. The group has had a very successful year, and the boys are all looking forward to the visit of the Chief Scout in March next. In a happy speech District Commissioner Laug congratulated the committee and the boys on securing their own hall, and wished the group every success in the new year. The Intorpatrol Cup was won by the Stag Patrol. The year’s prizes were awarded as follows :—- Scouts.—First prize, Scouts H, White and 0. Smith (equal); second prize, Scouts W. M'Gregor and G. M'Mtill.Vi (equal) ; third prize, Leader M'Millau; specials, Scouts F. Capo and H. White. Cubs.—First prize, Leader D. Hurley; second prize. Cub A. Moore; third prize, Cubs V. Denniston and G. Thomas (equal) ; specials, Cubs A. Mundio and L Mullin. The Christmas cake wos, as usual, presented by Mrs Nelson.
