TIMABU DEFENCE CLUB, P ef f nce Rifle-Club'held its mnth weeldy shoot on the club range on Saturday afternoon. E. Jones, first with 100, Rifleman L. Mur- , w M second with 100 also, being counted out by Jones. Rifleman C. Matmeson was third with 99, At 500 yards Vice-president Jones scored a very points ahead of C. Blackwood (47). . , At 900 Jones was again m the lead with 48, and C. Blackwood was again second with 47. In. the cqampionahip,- including all scores. Rifleman C. Blackwood improved his lead by an extra U points from' W. Bradshaw, ' IL- j lB -Sfi, Carmichael ia still third, while W. E. Jones came up from seventh place, to fourth. The M'Glashan aggregate is the same as last week, except that C. Blackwood has increased his load "by a further 11 points, and' Jones has come np to fourth place. In the bull s-eye competition Blackwood is still in tte lead by eight points from Bradqhaw, with Carmichael third. In very boisterous weather the Kiwi Defence Rifle Club commenced the first competition of No. 3 Match on Saturday over 500 and 600 yards (10 shots and two optional sighters). Nearly 30 members were in attendance, many of whom had their first experience of a tricky fish-tail wind. Scores were not on the same high level ’as. in previous shoots, an exception being the total of 92 off the rifle hy Rifle-’ man R. K. Johnston. The following are the scores, with handicaps:— A G^ADE.
