Air Robert Alitchell was a passenger by the midday express on Saturday on his way to Auckland. Air C. J. L. White left by the through express on Saturday en route to Auckland. • \ The General Committee of the Citizen’s Association in Christchurch unanimously decided to support the nomination of Air William Hayward for the Christchurch Mayoralty. Air Hayward put up a good fight against the present Mayor (the Rev. J. K. Archer), in 1929, when he was beaten by 424 votes, A, pleasant function took place at the Normal District High School before the break-up for the Christmas holidays, when Aliss R. Bates, who has been a member of the teaching _ staff for the past five years, and who is leaving to be married, was entertained at a farewell social by her fellow teachers, and presented with a Stewart crystal salad howl. Miss Bates suitably replied to the expressions of goodwill.
