RIOTS IN BOMBAY
CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES. AWARDS AMOUNT TO £50,000. (United Press Association.) C3y Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) CALCUTTA, December 20 (Received Dec. 21, at 5.5 p.m.) The chief presidency magistrate at Bombay awarded compensation amounting to £50,000 against the city to persona claiming damages arising out of the last riots between the Moslems and Hindus. The municipal commissioner was ordered to recover the amount by additional levy of the general tax on certain wards.
