MINIATURE GOLF.
NOT PERMISSIBLE ON SUNDAYS,
(Special to Dailt Times.) AUCKLAND, December 19. “If we allowed miniature golf to be played we would have hoop-la and every other thing being played on Sunday,” said Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court when Ernest H. • Henderson was charged with keeping open a miniature Rolf course at Takapuna on Sunday. In pleading guilty to the offence on behalf of the defendant, Mr Inder said there had been only one other conviction of this class of offence in New Zealand, and that related to an indoor course. The defendant had the permission 'of the Takapuna Council to conduct the game as a clean and healthy attraction to the beach. The case was no different from the City Council charging for admission to the Zoo on Sundays and the Wellington City Council making a charge for golf at Island Bay on Sundays. The defendant was convicted and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution.
