The German capital’s first " auto hotel” has been opened in the Saldemstresse, a street running off the fashion* able Kaiserdamm. It has some 80 rooms -with running hot and cold water and bathe, and a filling station in the basement; the entire court is occupied by a garage, with accommodation for 120 cars. The combination is expected to become Terr popular with motorists. Another unique Berlin hotel is the " Villa Majestic,” a three-storey building near the Kurfurstendamm which makes the impression of a private villa. The rooms are eo arranged that those in each floor open from a hall into which one steps from the elevator, doing away with long corridors. Each apartment has its sitting • room and bedroom, with bath and built-in wardrobes, each of which contains a small safe for valuables. '
