LAMBING STATISTICS.
INTERESTING.. FIGURES. (Special to Daily Times.) WELLINGTON, December 17. Interesting figures relating to the lambing estimates and other sheep returns were contained in a statement issued by the Minister of Agriculture (Mr A. J. Murdoch) to-day. It is shown that the number of ewes set apart for lambing for the whole Dominion this year was 17,564,175, and the estimated average yield of lambs was 83.77 per cent. The estimated average yield from 16,608,155 ewes last year was 88.65 per cent. The estimated number of lambs this year was 14,7i4,315, compared with 14,722,214 last year, 13,373,214 in 1928, and 12,868,840 in 1927. The following table sets out the particulars of lambing this year in the various sheep districts;—
