CITY POLICE COURT.
Tuesday, December 2. (Before Mr J. R, Bartholomew, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. John M’Dowall, a statutory fust often, der for drunkenness, was fined 10s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR. James Hogg pleaded guilty to a charge of acting m a disorderly manner in a public place while in a state of intoxication.—Senior Sergeant Quartermain said that Hogg had gone into Lake’s restaurant in Dowling street on Monday evening for a meal. After he had finished ho had fallen asleep at the table. The proprietor had gone to him and told him to leave. This appeared to anger him, for he began to behave in a disorderly manner, and had to be held down while the police were sent for,—Hogg, who said he was 24 years of age, asked that his name be suppressed.—The magistrate refused to make an order, stating that he was old enough to know how to behave himself He was fined £2, in default 14 days’ imprisonment.
